I work for a university that bills itself as "top 20." Last month I got a new computer. My old computer was fine, but the powers that be decided that I, and the rest of my department, needed new ones. We got Vista. In 2010, we got Vista.
Ugh---I would be so pissed. I'd corner the IT guy in the supply closet and pull out his arm hairs until he promised to downgrade my machine to XP. 10 bucks says I know what happened. Some old department head who doesn't know how to take photos off his digital camera and surfs the internet with internet explorer 6 said, well, we have 30 vista licenses lying around---it can't be that much different than 7 can it?
